Blog project 1

My name is Janet, I am new to blogging but I can already understand how blogging can significantly impact the print journalism industry in many ways. Nowadays, people are so frantic, everything is fast-paced. We are always "on the go". In this digital age we have access to information in seconds, whether it be in the car or in your living room. We have the internet on our computers, cell phones, at work and at home. The need to get your news from a newspaper or magazine isn't necessary anymore. Journalists don't even need to go out to get the facts, they do most of their own research on the internet. Even small town papers, like The Bedale Times, The Lincoln Chronicles, and Glasgow East Herald are closing down because of loss of revenue due to lack of subscriptions. Blogging is a fast and easy way to gain facts, share opinions and debate. Any average person can be their own journalist and reporter. For me, it somewhat takes away from the art of journalism.
